I'm a forensic examiner and am looking for a way to image the memory of the Leap Pad 2. This is in order to utilize some of my softwares to examine the image for logical and deleted data. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I was able to do this.  I don't know if you still need it, but I was also able to mount the image I got later.  I had to rebuild Linux to mount the image, but it wasn't too difficult.  Part of it involved redoing the driver.  If you need some help, PM me.

What is the shell command that will let me know i have successfully connected my LP2 & my computer via ftp.

RE: FTP to LeapPad - Deak Phreak - 02-11-2015

I don't believe there is a shell command to do that. Have you used FTP before? The FTP program tells you the status and will show you a list of files on the device if you have connect. If it fails, it will tell you.

Where is the right place to get WinSCP

RE: FTP to LeapPad - Deak Phreak - 02-11-2015

I am not familiar with WinSCP. Just use FTP to transfer files. If I find time later today then I will update my post on here with a more detailed tutorial with screenshots.

Thank you Deak that will be very helpful to me.

Great update with the full tutorial, Deak.
Just one quick question, by using the Dev mode within your LFConnect software, is the 'developer' directory deleted before disconnection as IIRC you cannot connect to official LeapFrog Manager with the directory still on the device.

Whoops, I just re-read Step 10 of your tutorial again. Sorry! Clearly you have said to delete the 'developer' directory.

RE: [Tutorial] - FTP to LeapPad - Deak Phreak - 02-13-2015

developer is simply a file, not a directory, but yes just delete it through FTP and after rebooting then you will be back to normal Smile
