Innotab 2 Baby - 44.30321 - USA/English - flexfulton - 09-22-2014 Hi everyone. I've recently purchased an Innotab 2 Baby for my son. 50% off resulting in a $39.99 device. Figured we would give it a shot for that price. And like all of my electronics I like to look into options of hacking. I stumbled across this forum and was happy to see a hack was present for these devices. Bring on the homebrew! I've had a look around the forum but I cannot seem to locate a hack for the firmware running on my Innotab. I've updated to the latest via LL which is 44.30321 but I only seem to be able to find non-english firmware (mostly french) for that revision. Would it be possible for someone to generate a hack for me based on this firmware? I've generated a backup of my current firmware and uploaded it to dropbox. As mentioned above it's a Innotab 2 Baby - Version 44.30321 and it's English language (purchased in Canada if it makes a difference) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/16dee6r1i8v6os5/AACyCLy-pMJXDWfhMABr_2BIa?dl=0 If someone would be able to help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers and thank you in advance! I can provide knowledge though if you are good with linux and have access to ubuntu or something via a computer or virtual machine. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of experience with linux and I don't have ubuntu or a virtual machine set up at the moment though I have done both in the past. I'll see if I can get around to setting something up but I doubt it. It's pretty low down the priority list and it won't be easy having to set up a linux system just to do this one thing. Once again I appreciate your reply. If anyone does come across or generate a hack for this firmware version please let me know. I'll do the same if I get a chance to create it myself. Cheers. RE: Innotab 2 Baby - 44.30321 - USA/English - Deak Phreak - 09-22-2014 I ended up getting a virtual machine up and running. This was done very quickly so install at your own risk. You will need to download another modified firmware and update the my_run code to work with this firmware. This is just the modified version and does not include the full installer. The date on this firmware is "2014-01-14 15:29:33" http://www77.zippyshare.com/v/64619871/file.html RE: Innotab 2 Baby - 44.30321 - USA/English - flexfulton - 09-22-2014 (09-22-2014, 10:04 AM)Deak Phreak Wrote: I ended up getting a virtual machine up and running. So aside from this file and editing the my_run code, I can dump this in with the other files usually found in the firmware package and I should be good to go? Nothing to edit in the flash4 or LLN folders? I really do appreciate this. Once tested and repacked, I'll post for others. As I mentioned this item was a 50% off item recently here in Canada so there might be a few more users who picked this up on the cheap poking around for this in the near future. Cheers and thanks again Deak! RE: Innotab 2 Baby - 44.30321 - USA/English - Deak Phreak - 09-22-2014 That is right. Download another firmware mod, preferably a newer one. Delete that firmware and put this one in its place, rename the file accordingly and edit the my_run code to point to the firmware. The my_run is the main code that does the flashing of the firmware so be sure you know what you are doing! I'm experienced in some android based flash scripts so I shouldn't have a problem. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any other files or adjustments. Cheers and thanks again! |
