[App] - Get Unit EID - Deak Phreak - 01-11-2015
If you have an Innotab with WIFI such as the 2s or 3s, then you will need the Unit EID value added to the database before you are able to run anything from the SD card. This app will search and parse the log files to find any Unit EID's for device you have connected to the learning lodge. It will find the log files in this location C:\ProgramData\VTech\DA\SysData\DownloadManager
You must connect your device to the Learning Lodge first before this app can find them. The logs also have to be in the directory listed above for it to work. I may provide an option to put in a custom path to the logs in case yours is different.

Please is there ANY way to get the Unit EID without connecting to Learning Lodge? Since the service has been disabled we're unable to get the EID of any new devices.

Did you try the program? If this is a new device that has never connected to the learning lodge then the program wont help. I have not had the time or motivation to research it further to see if there is an easy way to get it from the device itself.

you can find your uniteid by directly an mp3 on the sd card without using learning lodge:
- Start storio with a formatted sd
- the tablet creates the directories on startup on the sd
- insert the sd cart in PC and copy mp3 in music directory
- restart the tablet with the sd: the mp3 works
- insert sd cart in PC and use SQLite to find id

That is great info tegretol, thanks! I would love to make a script that will patch the firmware automatically, but you would need to run the script in a linux environment and just have not had the time to do it. Same with firmware patches. It is easy enough that most people should be able to do it themselves. Maybe one of these days I can make a youtube video showing step by step.
