Things to do at the console - roboknight - 01-31-2015 Since I suffer from CRS (Can't Remember Stuff) here are some things to do at the console: 1) Developer mode - touch /flags/developer 2) Keep AppManager from booting - touch /flags/main_app Number 2, as it turns out, will boot whatever you choose to put in the file "main_app". The nice feature about #2 is, it stops the darn thing from continually shutting off as it is prone to do when you want to fool with it. It basically just shows the splash screen. #1 was already on elinux.org , but since I got tired of drifting over there to recover from CRS, I put it here. RE: Things to do at the console - roboknight - 01-31-2015 Just a quick note about #1, it actually enables FTP access to the device over USB. I could have sworn I found sshd, but that might have been because I was looking at another device. The LeapPad2 doesn't seem to have *THAT* convenient tool. RE: Things to do at the console - Deak Phreak - 01-31-2015 Yea most of my stuff I document in the main thread as it usually applies to all the leap pad devices. http://spiffyhacks.harmonypogo.com/thread-215.html is about the Developer / FTP stuff. There is also some various info in the FAQ http://spiffyhacks.harmonypogo.com/thread-15.html RE: Things to do at the console - snipa - 02-18-2015 (01-31-2015, 11:11 PM)roboknight Wrote: 2) Keep AppManager from booting - Wow, that's incredibly handy. Great find. Thanks for sharing. Saved me having to touch the screen every so often whilst fiddling last night. Deak, a new 'developer' option for you? RE: Things to do at the console - Deak Phreak - 02-18-2015 Possibly as long as you still have USB access once plugged in so it can be removed by the app as well. Otherwise it will basically "brick" the device unless they have a serial cable to shell in and remove it manually. I can do some testing. RE: Things to do at the console - Deak Phreak - 02-18-2015 Looks like it still works. I built this in and will be in my next update |
