Innotab Max Internal Pictures - is0-mick - 10-13-2015 Just acquired a faulty innotab max (charging socket / hdmi socket looked like a kiddy had attacked them with a screwdriver). Interesting to note, that the whole internal storage (system, bootloader, recovery, userdata etc) is actually stored on an internal 8gb micro sd card! The card can be removed, and I managed to dd the whole card to a file in linux. There are no partitions as such on the card, but i tried binwalking the file and then extracted the system and recovery partitions. Here are some pictures of the internals of the thing. ![]() Sd card socket open. ![]() Sd card removed. ![]() Mick RE: Innotab Max Internal Pictures - ppx32 - 10-24-2015 (10-13-2015, 01:25 PM)is0-mick Wrote: Just acquired a faulty innotab max (charging socket / hdmi socket looked like a kiddy had attacked them with a screwdriver). Thanks very much Can you think is is possible to replace this card by big card SD (exemple:16 or 32) and copy data between to cards? RE: Innotab Max Internal Pictures - is0-mick - 10-24-2015 Well, a friend had a broken max that would not switch on. We suspected the sd card could be corrupt / damaged, so as a test I dd'd my card on a pc in linux and sent him the image (approx 2gb zip). He dd'd it back onto a 16gb micro sd card. The tablet now works, but with the same serial number / ID as mine. Also the language is not correct for his locale. The storage is still reported as 8gb, as that's how the disk is configured. It may be possible to reconfigure but I've never tried. Mick RE: Innotab Max Internal Pictures - myseverance - 10-27-2015 hello Have you got an idea how to install android apps in an external SD card instead of this internal SD card?? I have tried a lot of things but it doesn't work.... thanks RE: Innotab Max Internal Pictures - Deak Phreak - 10-27-2015 I have read somewhere about editing or adding a script that would mount the external SD card for storage instead of the internal. This would be run at boot or have a symlink or something to point to the external card. Not sure if it could be applied to this device, but I am sure there is a way. RE: Innotab Max Internal Pictures - huckleberrypie - 01-04-2016 Well that's quite an oddball, besides the cart slot that is. I assume that would make firmware dumps (and thus unbricking) relatively easy, eh? |
