Full system specs?
#1
I don't have an Innotab Max yet, but being the curious lad that I am, I'm interested in the inner workings of this thing. Has anyone did some snooping into the specs of it, i.e. what SOC does it run on or if it has access to the usual Android debug/developer interfaces.

My friends and I at an Android hacking forum were discussing about this lately, and whether it runs on an off-the-shelf Allwinner/Mediatek SOC or if GeneralPlus supplied the processors for this thing like with the entry level models. If Allwinner did the processor for this device it would be epic, as I'm sure some you may know how flexible those SOCs are on a developer standpoint.

I don't believe mick has picked one up yet and I have not either. It may be some time before I get my hands on one. A few people on here have got them, but believe they are for Christmas and for their kids, so I doubt they will be opening them up anytime too soon.

That's quite a drag, though I'm still eager for some news about it. I'm certain it should be able to run GTA or some other non-Innotab Android game given the processor used, but until someone manages to crack it open, it's still uncertain.

I have an Innotab MAX that i'm currently trying to get up and running for my daughter for Xmas (regarding movies, games and MP3) Mainly so that there wasn't any disappointment on Xmas day with a nonworking device on opening. As you'll see from another thread it wasn't all plain sailing so far.
I'm no techie but if you have any direct questions that you'd like me to see if i can answer then just let me know (before i have to wrap it up for the big day).

Well, I was mostly wondering if you could access ADB or at the very least sideload .APKs on it.

I'm now able to dial with the board itself. First boot in "normal" mode, and it is identified as rk30sdk_rtl8723
According some links found using this P/N, this is already a 7" tab, so vtech has used there an already existing device

------------------

adb is working fine after reboot.
For people who have already hacked such device, please join me, I don"t want yet to just give information on how to go there to noobs and get bricked devices Wink

And now here are android specs:
[Items]
Linux_version=3.0.36+
Android_version=RK30_ANDROID4.2.2-SDK-v1.00.82
System_build_time=1416980920
Kernel_build_time=Tue Nov 4 16:06:27 CST 2014

So it's a Rockchip, then. Would've been better if it's an Allwinner, but at least it's better than nothing. Now I was wondering how the tab would fare in benchmarks like Antutu or games like GTA San Andreas as I mentioned earlier. We should be able to get at least over 9000 and run the aforementioned game on medium details - man, I really am excited for this, even if I'm yet to have one myself. Big Grin

I can install Antutu and do a run, but not sure it is the most important at this time Wink
