Hi Deak,
Short story: I bricked my nephew's InnoTab 3S by using a substandard SD card to flash the modified firmware. Now I'm getting the same symptoms described by a post above. I have to disconnect and reconnect the power to turn it on only to get the firmware is updating message. Then it shuts off. I've looked on eBay and elsewhere for the USB to UART (TTL) Cable module PL2303 Converter that you recommend but apparently it has been discontinued and only a few is available from a seller in China, Which will take a month to ship to the US. My searches are leading me to the PL2303HX USB To TTL To UART RS232 COM Cable Module Converter. Amazon description: http://www.amazon.com/PL2303HX-RS232-Cab...B008AGDTA4. Is this a suitable replacement? If not, what would be? In addition, (I know this is a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway) should I remove the connectors and strip to the bare wires and solder? All help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
